Most industrial software was never built to work with the software sitting next to it. A PLC from one vendor, SCADA from another, then a historian, a dashboard tool, an alarm system, and something bolted on for analytics. Every piece arrives with its own license, its own driver layer, and its own name for the same tag.

So you end up building the integration yourself. That is the part nobody quotes for, and it never really ends, because every upgrade puts the seams at risk.

In that demo the operator is in San Francisco and the workspace is hosted in Virginia, so a button press crosses the country before the machine responds. That trip is the SCADA command, not the control. The PLC program itself runs locally on the industrial PC, next to the equipment, not in the cloud.

What we built

The Virtual PLC runs ordinary, non-safety control: sequencing, process regulation, batching, and material handling. It sits on the same platform as your SCADA, historian, dashboards, alarms, and analytics, sharing one tag model. Define a tag once and everything downstream already knows about it. No driver layer to maintain, no mapping file to keep in sync.

Bring your own supported Linux hardware, or order a preconfigured machine and skip the setup. A first system can start under $1,000 and grow from there as you add lines, sites, and data. What it does not do is ask for six figures across separate products before anything is under control.
